Printer Supplies for every printer

Printer requirements vary according to the different types of printers but making sure you have enough available is very important. Many printers will not even work if you are out of just one color.
Some printer systems require more than just ink (or toner). Many also have replaceable print heads and it may be worth checking out the cost and availability of these.
Papers are a key aspect when thinking of what and why you are printing. General paper supplies are usually 80GSM white paper but if you intend to print images then a better quality paper is important. One of the most important issues that affects the print quality is the paper type and quality. For most text and draft printing the standard papers are suitable but if your needs are different then begin to look at the paper very early in the process.

Photos require top quality photographic paper from a reputable supplier. Considerations on whether you use a gloss, semi gloss, or matt type photo paper will depend on where you intend to display the images, the ink types and complexity of the image.

optional extras

Many top of the range printers, especially multi functional ones, also have the ability to have extras like a stapler on them, so make sure these supplies are in stock.

Duplexing and double sided printers may also need special papers, cover sheets that may be plastic, and inserts that can be card or colored papers. Some of the large office type multifunction units need quite a wide range of assorted optional extras.

Photo quality printers generally have several cartridges (4 or more) that may be interchangeable for a variety of print functions. Ensure that the inks you use for photos are tested and guaranteed to last for years. Canon and Epson inks for example are stated to last over 20 years, realising of course that where they are displayed will also affect how fast the colors fade.
