Keyboards of all types
Best Value this week --TD459 - Dell Inspiron 1300, B120/B130 and Latitude Laptop 120L Keyboard. See above.

The computer keyboard comes in an enormous range of types, layouts and connection methods. The modern bluetooth keyboard is an improvement (or variation) on the wireless keyboard that is great if you are into cordless operations. The standard PS/2 keyboard is still the most common (and reliable), with the USB keyboard not far behind. The fastest in terms of operation is the USB2.0 keyboard, not that most of us can type fast enough to notice. The main advantage of the older PS/2 style connection comes whenever there are hardware difficulties and none of the USB or other devices operate, this is less of an issue with the latest motherboards but anything over a couple of years old, and many cheaper motherboards, still have the PS/2 as the fallback.
Special Keyboards
A keyboard and mouse combination is also a useful way to go when looking for suitable peripherals. Some specialist keyboards like the multimedia keyboard mouse combinations are excellent for those specialised areas.
When gaming it is possible to have special keys on the keyboard, or to allocate specific functions to those keys. It does mean they wear out a bit sooner but you can replace keys and the springs under them very easily. On laptop computers it is often easier to replace the whole keyboard (they are pretty cheap anyway) than it is to try and get a couple of keys repaired.
